Week 32

Well this week was nuts… I got a phone call from my OB on Monday night with the news that my glucose test results were a little high so he wanted me to take the second one which is 3 hours long and double the drink. I went to do it Tuesday and went through quite the ordeal. He didn’t give me any information so I had to figure it out while having not eaten since 10pm the night before. Once I made it to the right place and got into the waiting room for the lab, I had a small meltdown. Thankfully the lab tech set me up in the sterile room on a comfy lounge chair where I spent the full 3 hours. I had planned on trying to get some work done but felt sick from the drink and the whole experience left me drained. It ended up being fairly entertaining listening to the conversations in the hall. I found out Wednesday that the results were fine and it looks like the first test result was fine as well. So frustrating but I’m just glad I don’t have GD and the whole thing is done with.

This morning we had a tour of Thrive Birth Center and met one of the midwives. The place is absolutely beautiful and we both loved it. I can definitely see myself delivering there and I’m so happy Steve agrees. The best part is the hospital is just around the corner in the chance I need to get transferred. I’m really excited about switching my care over.

I’m feeling pretty good this week. Some morning sickness but it’s not as bad as the first trimester so it’s totally manageable. No stretch marks yet thankfully but I do think I need to find some bigger workout pants. The ones I have are starting to put too much pressure on my bladder. I noticed my stomach bulging in the middle when I went to get up and googled my suspicion that it was Diastasis Recti. That is where the connective tissue holding the left and right abdominals together, stretches. It’s pretty creepy but not dangerous and I talked to Dr. Jen about ways not to make it worse. I’ll focus on repairing it after the birth.

The baby is moving a lot more and she’s starting to stretch out into my ribs. My stomach gets a lump on both the left and right side of my belly making it look really lumpy. Sometimes when she’s kicking, my entire belly shakes or you can see a foot graze across the top right of my stomach. Every time I tell Steve to look, she stops moving. He probably thinks I’m making it up. Edit: I was finally able to capture it on video!! Proof!
